The Cyber Crime Police, Cyberabad, on Wednesday arrested a 25-year-old youth, S Praveen Kumar, for creating a fake account in the name of a girl on social networking site Orkut and posting vulgar messages and pictures.

Praveen Kumar, a native of Warangal, had completed M Sc from NIT Warangal in 2007-2009. He came to the city in search of a job and was staying with his uncle in Gandhi Nagar.

He came across a community in the name of NIT Warangal, MSc Chemistry on Orkut. He searched and found his junior's account and opened his photo gallery and found his classmates' pictures. He copied a girl's photograph and created a fake email ID with rajunatco gmail and through which he created an account on her name in Orkut. In the account, he posted her photographs, vulgar comments and obscene photographs from different sites.

Police tracked the IP address and nabbed him. A case was registered under Sections 509 (word or gesture intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the IPC and Section 67 of the IT Act, 2000, against him.
